Quindy Watts: Foxtail Woods
The horse industry has definitely been an area of her life that she's truly passionate about. Being an Equine Canada and NCCP certified coach has helped her be the best coach she can be to her students. Her knowledge of the sport just keeps growing as this industry keeps evolving.
Quindy has worked in the industry for 30 years. She started out when she was 12 years old mucking stalls for a dressage coach in Ontario. At the time she had a naughty pony who taught her to ride and she worked in order to pay for riding lessons. Later, Quindy had the opportunity to work in all areas of the equine world and she has been able to work, ride and train under some of the best professionals in the industry. From dressage and hunter/jumpers, to western riding on the quarter horse circuit, from trail riding guide, to the harness racing world.
Quindy, now and for the past several years, has streamlined her business and coaching into the hunter and jumper disciplines because it is the sport in the equine industry that she really enjoys. She loves to help people develop their horses and give them the understanding of how basic horsemanship can get them where they want to go when it comes to jumping and course work. Quindy also enjoys riding and developing good flatwork in young horses, as well as experienced horses.
Currently Quindy keeps up her mentorship and she rides with other coaches who have helped develop her own personal riding goals. She operates her business as Foxtail Woods and often freelances out to the community.

Jessica Holloway: East n' West Horsemanship
Jess is passionate about horsemanship and teaching. She has been starting colts for the last fifteen years. This all started when she was 14 based on a John Lyon’s book and hasn’t looked back since. Besides John Lyons, Jess still rides with her first mentor, Faron Forsyth (FL Ranch); a reining trainer from Medicine Hat, AB. Not only does Jess still work very closely with Faron, she has also had the opportunity to work with Doug and Lynette Mills (Training Thru Trust). In addition to these amazing equestrians Jess also works very closely with her show jumping mentor, Dustin Cossaboom (Benchmark Equestrian). She has been riding with Dustin for 6 years and had the opportunity to work for him through the winter and spring this past year (2020).
Jess is well versed in different disciplines. Having grown up on a ranch, working very closely with a reining trainer for the last eight years and also riding under a few different professional show jumpers. She is comfortable and competent around all ages, breeds, sex, and types of equine. Jess is capable of starting from halter breaking to teaching lead changes, turn arounds, sliding stops, to jumping up to 1.0m. She is passionate about horsemanship first and foremost no matter the discipline. Jess’ methods are simple yet effective, building trust between horse and human from the ground up. Whether colt starting or problem solving, Jess loves them all and is confident handling all situations. In her spare time she also does liberty with her horses.
Jess has had the opportunity to learn from many great horsemen and women over the years, taking little tidbits from each person to build her own methods that work for her, her clients, and the horses. She believes horsemanship is not a “one size fits all” and that every horse is different. Jess takes pride in the program she’s developed and feels it is very well rounded, as well as individualized for each horse’ needs. The program is very groundwork fundamental based with a strong belief in softness and patience all while still maintaining a healthy respect between horse and handler. She is often commended at her ability to connect with horses and how easily she can read them in any situation.
From halter breaking, to show jumpers, to putting the first turn around on a reiner, to putting a colt on their first cow, to solving that unruly issue Jess has built a program to accommodate them all and looks forward to sharing her experience with others!
